As you traverse lush forests filled with rhododendron blooms, you'll be captivated by the magnificent Langtang mountain range.

Itinerary

Welcome to Nepal! Once you land in Kathmandu, a friendly face will be waiting to pick you up at the airport. We recommend arriving before noon to make the most of the day. Settle into your hotel, and, at 3:00 pm, meet your guide and fellow trekkers, and get briefed on the adventure ahead. There’s time for any last-minute gear checks or shopping before gathering for a cozy Nepalese welcome dinner at a nearby restaurant. You’re officially on trek time now!
After breakfast, it's time to hit the road and head north toward Syabrubesi (1,460 m). This 7–8 hour scenic drive winds through hills, villages, and river valleys, giving you your first real taste of Nepal’s raw beauty. By the time you arrive, you'll feel the mountains calling. Syabrubesi is the stunning gateway to the enchanting Langtang region.
Your trek begins! After a good breakfast, a solid first push will lead us to the Deurali summit, where the views over the beautiful Langtang mountain ranges reward the effort. From there, the trail eases off toward Gatlang (2,238 m), a vibrant Tamang village where tradition lives strong. It’s a great first immersion into the local culture and lifestyle. Distance: 11.5 km (7.15 mi) | Elevation gain: +1060 m (3478 ft) - 230 m (755 ft) | Time: 7 hours
Leaving Gatlang, we descend into the terraced fields that mark the region’s traditional agriculture. The trail then winds through beautiful pine and bamboo forests, creating a peaceful contrast to the open views of the previous day. We ascend steadily past Thambuchet and Gang-Gong before reaching Tatopani (2,600 m), where another cultural gem awaits. Distance: 11 km (6.84 mi) | Elevation gain: +850 m (2789 ft) - 530 m (1739 ft) | Time: 5.5 hours
Start your day with a soak in the hot springs, a rare treat on a Himalayan trek! After breakfast, we trek toward Thuman via the Nagthali Danda ridge. We walk through lush rhododendron and oak forests with stunning mountain views along the way. After the high point, we descend through even thicker rhododendron forest to the peaceful village of Thuman. Distance: 9 km (5.59 mi) | Elevation gain: +640 m (2100 ft) - 870 m (2854 ft) | Time: 7 hours
Today’s trail is a mix of ups and downs as you make your way to Briddim. Along the way, meet local Tamang families and soak up the Tibetan Buddhist atmosphere that defines life here. After crossing Pelko village, the path becomes easier as we make our way to Briddim (2,239 m), a beautiful settlement with welcoming locals and a strong sense of tradition. It's a journey through a way of life. Distance: 6 km (3.73 mi) | Elevation gain: +570 m (1870 ft) - 760 m (2493 ft) | Time: 5 hours
Embark on an unforgettable trek to the Lama Hotel (2,420 m), where adventure meets cultural immersion! As you navigate the breathtaking trails of Khangjim and Sherpagoan, you'll have the opportunity to engage with the rich traditions of the Tamang and Sherpa communities. After hours of exhilarating trekking, you’ll arrive at the inviting Lama Hotel, a charming collection of guesthouses that welcomes you at the threshold of the stunning Langtang Valley. Distance: 15 km (9.32 mi) | Elevation gain: +790 m (2592 ft) - 470 m (1542 ft) | Time: 7.5 hours
We continue deeper into the valley, trekking from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3,500 m). On the way, we pass through beautiful forests and catch glimpses of Langtang Mountain from several viewpoints. Langtang Village itself is surrounded by fields of buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, and barley, all protected by traditional stone walls. A peaceful and culturally rich day. Distance: 11 km (6.84 mi) | Elevation gain: +1000 m (3281 ft) - 40 m (131 ft) | Time: 5 hours
Today’s gentle ascent takes us through yak pastures and charming alpine villages as we head toward Kyangjin (3,830 m). Along the way, you’ll get to visit a government-operated cheese factory and arrive with time to explore Kyangjin Gompa: a spiritual and scenic spot surrounded by snow-capped giants. Distance: 7 km (4.35 mi) | Elevation gain: +430 m (1411 ft) - 10 m (33 ft) | Time: 5 hours
You’ve earned a flexible day! For those craving adventure, hike up to Kyanjin Ri (4,600 m) – a 2-hour ascent with 750 m elevation gain that offers some of the best mountain views on the trek. Prefer something more relaxed? Sleep in, explore the village, or learn about Tamang and Sherpa culture. Don’t forget to try Nak cheese at the local dairy: it's not the same as yak cheese!
Retrace your steps back down to Lama Hotel through forests and familiar villages. The descent is long but gentle, and the changing views make it a pleasure. Celebrate your return with a cold Sherpa beer: you’ve earned it! Distance: 18 km (11.18 mi) | Elevation gain: +50 m (164 ft) - 1400 m (4593 ft) | Time: 7 hours
Today’s walk is your final one on the trail. We descend gently through forest paths, passing familiar places like Bamboo and Dovan, and return to Syabrubesi (1,460 m). This riverside town is a cozy spot to reflect on everything you’ve experienced: from mountain highs to cultural discoveries. Distance: 11 km (6.84 mi) | Elevation gain: +50 m (164 ft) - 1100 m (3609 ft) | Time: 5 hours
Hop on the bus back to Kathmandu, where a hot shower and clean clothes are waiting. Spend the evening in lively Thamel, where food, music, and souvenirs abound. Enjoy a final group dinner to toast your Himalayan journey.
You will be dropped off at the airport approximately 3.5 hours before your scheduled flight. If time permits, feel free to take a stroll around Thamel to buy some souvenirs for your loved ones back home. Please note that the hotel check-out time is at noon, so we recommend scheduling your flights accordingly.
