Cosa farai

Trek the iconic King’s Trail through Sweden’s Arctic wilderness, crossing valleys, rivers, and high passes. Stay in remote mountain huts, relax in saunas, and summit Kebnekaise — Sweden’s highest peak. A true Nordic adventure through Lapland’s untamed beauty.

Itinerario

Meet at the Abisko Mountain Station, about one hour from Kiruna Airport. A single timed group transfer from the airport is provided. The drive passes through scenic landscapes of birch and pine forests with views of snow-capped peaks. If time allows, there will be a short welcome presentation about Abisko and the King’s Trail.
Begin your journey along the Abeskoeatnu River, following a well-maintained, mostly flat trail through lush vegetation and marshland boardwalks. The trail is alive with wildflowers and the occasional sighting of eagle or wildlife tracks. The day ends at a hut near the beautiful Abiskojaure Lake. Time: ~4–5 hrs | Length: 15 km / 9.3 mi | Elevation gain: 100 m up / 328 ft
Continue west along the river, passing possible Sami dwellings. After cresting a low col, descend into a wide valley with panoramic views. This is one of the longer hiking days, though on gentle terrain. If available, a boat ride along the lake can save the final 6km. End the day at Alesjaure’s cluster of huts, where a sauna by the stream offers the chance to unwind. Time: ~5–6 hrs | Length: 20 km / 12.4 mi | Elevation gain: 300 m up / 984 ft
Follow the Alesätno River deeper into the mountains as the trail narrows. Pass through changing landscapes filled with alpine flora, and pause for a rest by icy streams. Finish at the secluded and scenic Tjäktja Cabins. Time: ~4–5 hrs | Length: 13 km / 8.1 mi | Elevation gain: 200 m up / 656 ft, 300 m down / 984 ft
Climb to the Tjäktja Pass at 1140m, the highest point on the Kungsleden Trail. Enjoy expansive views into the next valley before descending into the striking Tjäktjajakka Valley, with waterfalls and dramatic ridgelines. Settle in at the well-positioned Sälka Hut, perfect for further exploration. Time: ~3–4 hrs | Length: 12 km / 7.5 mi | Elevation gain: 150 m up / 492 ft, 300 m down / 984 ft
Follow the river down the Tjäktjajakka Valley to Singi, a shorter and more relaxed day. Reindeer are often seen here, especially cooling off on remaining snow patches. Time: ~3–4 hrs | Length: 12 km / 7.5 mi | Elevation gain: 100 m down / 328 ft
Leave the Kungsleden Trail and head east through the stunning Laddjuvaggi Valley to reach the Kebnekaise Mountain Station. This base for summit attempts offers hot showers, saunas, and comfortable facilities — a well-earned break after days on the trail. Time: 9–10 hrs | Length: 14 km / 8.7 mi | Elevation gain: 150 m up / 492 ft, 150 m down / 492 ft
Join a certified mountain guide for the summit of Sweden’s highest peak via the East Route. The route includes glacier travel, scrambles, and breathtaking snow ridges. After reaching the summit, return to the mountain station for a restful night. Time: ~7–8 hrs | Length: 15 km / 9.3 mi | Elevation gain: 1,400 m up & down / 4,593 ft
Begin with a gentle forest walk, followed by a scenic boat ride across Ladtjojaure Lake. Continue through the forest to Nikkaluokta, where your trek concludes. A group bus transfer brings you back to Kiruna for a well-deserved rest in a comfortable hotel. Time: ~4–5 hrs | Length: 14 km / 8.7 mi | Elevation gain: 200 m down / 656 ft
Your journey ends after breakfast. A single group transfer is provided to Kiruna Airport.
